In August 2021 we finally made it happen. Waiting so long due COVID, we jump into the plane and heading to Namibia ... finally!

Somehow the two quotes from Sam + Bilbo from the Lord of the Rings movie fit all too well with the current situation in the world...and the shadow still has a firm grip on us all to this day.

Spitzkoppe - Damaraland
We always try to go towards the sun 👣 ...we had made the decision in 2019 to dare an adventure... four of us in a 4x4 across Namibia 🇳🇦. Everything was planned and tied down for August 2020...and then came the shadow, Corona, 🤬🤬🤬 shortly before departure the shock... the numbers in 🇳🇦 rose and it was not clear how a vacation with Corona under reasonable aspects was to be designed safely for all.
So the adventure was postponed, in the hope that in 2021 everything would be better, the shadow gone and the sun shining brighter than before 🕶☀️🕶.
For a long time in 2021, at least in Namibia, all was well. The incidence held steady between 29 and 45. At the end of May, however, this changed abruptly and the cold claws of the delta variant had the country firmly in its grip from then on. The peak was then very quickly reached on 01 July 2021 at an incidence of over 500 !! ... 🇳🇦 was classified as a virus variant area and the upcoming journey again became an unreachable distance within a month 🤦🏼. But one thing is clear... giving up is just not possible somehow...

...after countless searches in documentaries and travel guides, regular exchanges over many weeks in various forums, Internet research on the coolest spots and restaurants to, how much air you actually have to let out of the tires on gravel roads🤔, everything was there.
Ultimately, since 28/07/2021, it is thanks to the federal (minister of health) Jens 🥰 that 🇳🇦 was taken from the 🦠 variant list. A quarantine is now irrelevant for us 4, fully vaccinated 🥳🎉🎊🍾
So ....

They are now carrying us from 17/08/2021 to 06/09/2021 into our 🇳🇦 adventure...and if you feel like it, don't watch your 👣 and join us for a bit into our adventure😉🤩!!!
