16.08.2022: let’s see some hoodoos
We started the day very early — sunrise was on the agenda. Unfortunately, the clouds from yesterday were still lingering, so we didn’t get the full spectrum of colors across the hoodoos.
After an early breakfast, we headed out for a short hike. Bryce Canyon is endlessly fascinating. Around almost every corner, you find yourself stopping, wide-eyed, taking in the hoodoos in all their shapes, textures, and shifting tones.
The afternoon we kept deliberately slow and easy — just relaxing and letting the place sink in.
Tonight, we’ll head back out for sunset… hopefully with fewer clouds than yesterday 😜.
17.08.2022: Antelope Canyon X
Today it was time to say goodbye to all of the Hoodoos — but not before catching one last look at that incredible sunrise. Even though the cloud cover was thicker than we’d hoped, it was still deeply captivating.
Once the bags were packed and back in the car, we hit the road, stopping briefly at a store to grab breakfast supplies. Since we had to be in Page by around 13:00 for our Antelope Canyon tour, breakfast happened road-trip style — in the car, on the move.
The ever-changing landscape along the way kept us completely absorbed. After arriving at our hotel in Page, we spent the time before the tour the best way possible — relaxing by the pool and soaking up the sun.

Antelope Canyon X… it was absolutely mind-blowing 🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰.
We booked the Antelope Canyon X tour for early afternoon. Sure, we’d seen countless photos and read so much about it — but standing inside it yourself, seeing it with your own eyes… it’s indescribable. Fascinating, breathtaking, almost unreal. Pure magic.
The shifting colors and layered rock formations seem to transform with every step, every ray of light, every passing minute. It’s nearly impossible to put into words.
We also had an incredible guide — 69 years old and still leading eight tours a day. He put so much care into everything and took amazing photos of all of us. On the iPhone, he was an absolute master.
Afterwards, we just needed a moment — to pause, breathe, and try to process what we had just experienced.
Horseshoe bend
…in the evening, we headed to Page’s next highlight: Horseshoe Bend. Let’s just say — we were definitely not alone 🤣😂🤣.
The viewpoint is especially popular with the bold ones, who inch right up to the edge to capture that perfect shot. Beyond them, the iconic river curve unfolds — the Colorado River winding gracefully around the rock formation like a perfect horseshoe.
We weren’t quite as fearless as the Instagram daredevils 🤪😂🤣 — but we got close enough to feel the thrill 😳. Once again, we stood there quietly impressed, reminded yet again just how powerful and humbling nature can be.
